Can iPods Replace Professors?

Another study on how podcasts are changing the way we learn.

Undergraduate general psychology students listening to podcasts from lectures of their professor scored significantly higher than the students attending the in-class lecture (03:05)

Three primary lessons:

  • By having the lecture on iPods, the students could listen to the lecture multiple times
  • Having "chapter" markers in the recording made it easy to jump to different sections when needed
  • Taking notes - just like those in class - made a difference

88% of the participants preferred the podcast method.
